Savannah Shaw of Upper Saint Clair High School (PA) Wins Girls Athlete of the Year
Savannah Shaw finished off her athletic career at Upper Saint Clair strong. With her best personal time, the senior ran the 1,600m and earned a time of 4:49.51, taking fourth in the race. She previously earned state recognition and qualified for this year’s state championship in the 800m run. On top of these achievements, she earned eighth place overall at the New Balance National Indoor Championships in New York City for the women’s mile.
Because of her success as an Upper Saint Clair Panther, she was awarded the Girls Athlete of the Year Award from the Observer-Reporter in Washington, Pennsylvania.
While she has had an amazing high school career in Track and Field, she also shines in Cross Country.
She plans to continue her career at North Carolina State University next year.
Coach Dave Jones of La Jolla (CA) Named National AVCA High School Coach of the Year
Congratulations to La Jolla High School for the recent naming of boys volleyball coach, Dave Jones, as the AVCA National High School Coach of the Year. Along with this award, he recently completed his 20th year leading the Vikings, registered an overall record win rate of 34-7 this season, and is a nine-time AVCA Team Academic Award winner.
Along with his achievements this year, he had three team members named to the AVCA All-American High School Team. Luke Lentin and Gabriel Vargas-Featherstone were named to the 2018 First Team, while Berkeley Miesfeld was named to the 2018 Second Team.

Trenton Trojans (MI) recognize school's three-sport athletes
Participating in three Varsity sports during the season is no small feat. This week, the team at Trenton (MI) recognized the 14 athletes who did just that, including athletes in cheer, crew, swimming, track, cross country, basketball, golf, tennis, hockey and more.

Kent City (MI) Girls Track Team breaks three records at the West Michigan All-Star Meet
Reeths Puffer High School hosted the West Michigan All-Star Meet on May 23, and conditions were near perfect for fast times. Kent City Eagle teammates broke school records in the 3200 relay, 800m Dash, and Long Jump.

South Christian (MI) Sailor Soccer earns outright OK Gold title with shutout victory over FHE
South Christian (MI) traveled to Forest Hills Eastern on Thursday to close out the regular season and OK Gold conference play, shutting out the Hawks 1-0 to clinch the regular season OK (Ottawa-Kent) Gold conference title.
